30 Years of Passion, Precision, and Tackle Knowledge

For three decades, Terri Cheatham has been a trusted name in the Florida angling community. From repairing heavy-duty deep-drop reels to wrapping custom fishing rods from scratch, Terri brings an encyclopedic knowledge of fishing tackle to every job. At Terri’s Reel Repair, the goal is simple: deliver honest work, treat every angler like family, and make sure your gear is fixed right so you stay on the water.

A Family Legacy Born in Service

The story behind Terri’s Reel Repair began decades ago with her father, Kel. After retiring from a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy, Kel founded Kel’s Rod & Reel Service in Casselberry, Florida. He quickly earned a fearsome reputation throughout the state for his master-level custom rod building and technical repair skills.

Terri followed in her family's strong military tradition, serving 10 proud years in the U.S. Coast Guard. Upon finishing her service, she joined her father at the shop, learning the craft directly from the master builder himself. Together, they built a business synonymous with quality, craftsmanship, and reliability.

After running the legendary Casselberry family shop for years, Terri eventually sold the business to enter semi-retirement. But her passion for the trade never faded.

Deep Roots & Industry Connections

Today, operating out of Deltona, Florida, Terri offers her specialized skills directly to local and regional anglers.

Staying active in today's fast-moving fishing tackle industry is a core part of Terri's service. Attending major events like ICAST 2026, she maintains strong, active relationships with manufacturers, component suppliers, and tackle distributors across the country. That extensive network gives Terri a unique advantage when sourcing hard-to-find parts and staying up to date on the latest electric reel technologies.
